We saw lighthouses when we went on a church Mission trip to Maryland several years ago. Sounds like a fun trip and I'm tickled that you may want to go back next year. Omelets are my favorite food also. Never had the desire there with all the mosquitoes, snakes, palmetto bugs, spiders (of every color under the sun), not to mention the alligators. Did I mention snakes. Yeah. Anyway, I've done everything from lean-to to popups. Cooked on open fires, and did "personal business" by candle lantern. LOL Loved it. But haven't camped at all after moving south. Glad you did finally enjoy it enough to consider "next time." But just a little bit of advice. Make sure you have exercised like a track star before you attempt lighthouse stairs. I doubt Arnold Schwarzenegger or even Chuck Norris had anything on those men who manned those lighthouses way back then. My legs felt like rubber-bands when I can down after going up, even the second time I did it.Sharon K. Our favorite (somewhat nearby) getaway is along Lake Superior. I can't blame you for not liking camping, though. We're hotel people ourselves :) I'm glad it sounds like you ended up enjoying your trip!Emily Conradhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17263098241486921751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1232667643313666958.post-66868687899175230092018-08-31T06:24:09.975-07:002018-08-31T06:24:09.975-07:00Haha! I live close to Lake Erie in Pennsylvania, and we do have a terrific lighthouse! There are parts of Lake Erie in Ohio and New York, too.
