Cry Out To Jesus

There was a song a few years back called “Cry Out to Jesus.” I was reminded of this song recently.

When I’m feeling down, not about any one thing in particular, but just about many things, I want to cry.

My husband wants to comfort me. I feel ashamed to share it with my children or my friends. I want to weep and sob, but what can they do for me? What can they say?

I’m a mess, and I fear sharing this depth of sadness with people.

But I can cry out to Jesus.

God invites me to share the depth of my pain, even if I don’t understand it, with him. He can take it. He wants to. He cares for me.

Hebrews 4: 16:
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence,
so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Psalm 56: 8:
You keep track of all my sorrows.
You have collected all my tears in your bottle.
You have recorded each one in your book.

1 Peter 5:7
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

  1. The song is beautiful. When you lose someone to soon, the heartbreak...yesterday I learned my beautiful friend from India passed away from Cancer. It hit me so had like when my sister died. I kept asking God why he took both of them and left me to live so many years ago. So this song touched me.
I have one song I go to when I want to feel hope. In fact, I used it as the trailer for my first book.

  2. Love that song, and love the promises our Lord gives! Casting all our cares on Him relieves our burden and puts those situations, people, problems in the hands of the only One who can heal, comfort, and walk with us through them.

Thanks for this wonderful reminder!! :)

  6. I think of it as dumping out all the contents of my heart to the Lord. There is something so beautiful about being completely honest with Jesus and knowing the burden isn’t too much for him, He needs no explanations, He cares so tenderly. And then we get guidance and comfort and understanding from the creator of the world! We are so blessed to have our beloved Savior as our closest confidant.
